Statistics: Share of loss-making Russian firms at 32.2% Jan–Jun

MOSCOW, Aug 28 (PRIME) -- The share of loss-making Russian companies rose 0.6 percentage points on the year to 32.2% in January–June, the Federal State Statistic Service said in a statement on Tuesday.

In the period, 33,300 Russian companies received a combined profit of 7.75 trillion rubles, while 15,800 organizations received a combined loss of 1.38 trillion rubles.

The share of companies running at a loss in the mineral resource development rose to 36.4% in January–June from 36% in the same period of 2017; in the processing industry it increased to 29.7% from 29.6%; and in the construction industry fell to 30.7% from 31.1%.

The share of loss-making firms in retail and repair of vehicles and motorcycles was at 23.9%. In agriculture, hunting and fishing it stood at 22.9%, the service said.
